Every year, over 200 public companies get sued in lawsuits claiming violations of the federal securities laws, seeking large potential damages, and distracting management. This presentation will provide background on these lawsuits accusing companies of securities fraud and describe steps a company can take to reduce the risk and to improve chances of defeating any lawsuit before there is costly discovery. The presentation will conclude with a brief proxy season update.
