Littler’s pre- and post-inauguration surveys of 347 US-based C-suite executives across company sizes and industries revealed whether and how companies are changing their approach toward DEI.
Among the noteworthy takeaways:
- More than half (51%) of respondents surveyed post-inauguration whose organization has a program in place said that their organization is considering (to some extent) new or further rollbacks of their DEI programs as a result of the Trump administration’s DEI-focused executive orders.

- Sixty percent (60%) of respondents whose organization has a program in place indicated that their organization is awaiting further developments on the new administration’s priorities—including enforcement plans—before making changes to their DEI program.
- Among the 51% who reported that their organizations are considering rollbacks of their DEI programs, 61% are considering removing or reducing DEI-related language from their websites, proxy statements, and/or outward-facing communications.

- Asked whether their organization is more concerned about the risk of DEI-related lawsuits, government enforcement actions, and/or shareholder proposals following the inauguration than beforehand, 55% noted more concern.
