Reporting to the Board: What & How Often?

By Randi Morrison posted 06-11-2018 07:37 AM

According to a recent member-requested Society Quick Survey on the frequency of various types of management reports to the board, reports/updates to the board are most frequently commonly given on Charitable Contributions, Environmental-Related topics, Government Affairs, Physical Security, and Operations (each about 4x/year). Periodic reports/updates on Regulatory matters, Corporate Governance, Shareholder Engagement, Risk Management, IT/IS, and Corporate Ethics/Compliance are also common. Access the full survey results here.

This survey report, along with the results of a member-requested benchmarking survey on board evaluations, first appeared in last week's Society Alert! Note that our member-requested Quick Surveys are always conducted on an anonymous basis, and reported out promptly after the survey closes in the next weekly Society Alert.

Access an abundance of additional benchmarking and practical resources on our Board Practices/Governance Practices and other topical pages.
