In this new article: "Seven steps to a more strategic board," Deloitte - informed by its numerous discussions with CEOs, board chairs, directors, academics, and external board advisers - identifies sound practices CEOs should consider to enhance their (and their management team's) relationship with the board and promote board effectiveness, particularly as relates to affirmatively shaping a CEO-board dynamic that is optimally positioned to tackle today's challenges and facilitate attainment of the company's strategy as it evolves over time.
