Equilar's review and analysis of the proxy statements of the top 100 (by revenue) US-listed companies over the last five fiscal years revealed that nearly 75% included a compensation program checklist in 2019 (i.e., the most recent proxy year with FYE between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019) - typically in the form of "What We Do/What We Don't Do."
Additional key findings for 2019 include:
- Nearly 76% of companies included proxy summaries.
- Nearly 80% included a CD&A Executive Summary, and 36% included a CD&A-specific table of contents.
- More than 85% of companies voluntarily included a supplemental graph of some sort: nearly 80% included a pay mix graph, more than 46% included an alternative pay graph or table (depicting something other than what is required in the SCT, e.g., realized or realizable pay), and 22% included a pay-for-performance graph.
