Compensation Committee Evolves

"The Evolving Role of the Compensation Committee: It’s More than Pay" from Farient reveals how the compensation committee's remit is changing with the times in ways that are observable to investors and other stakeholders. Notably, the conventional, standalone "compensation committee" moniker is diminishing as this committee assumes such additional responsibilities as D&I, talent management, succession planning, and more, with larger companies leading the way, as shown here:

Corresponding changes in remit are increasingly reflected in committee charters and committee meeting agendas that may commonly include, e.g., broad-based human capital strategies, HCM, talent management, succession planning, and workforce pay, in addition to traditional responsibilities.
