Human capital management and diversity topped the list by a large margin of enumerated ESG topics asset owners responding to ISS's "2020 Asset Owner Stewardship Survey" intend to prioritize in 2021. Other topics ranking much lower in terms of the number of respondent votes include executive compensation (including ESG metrics), climate change risks, cybersecurity, human rights, and data privacy. The online survey of primarily North American asset owners was fielded in July/August 2020 and garnered 145 responses.
