Further to our recent report: "Goldman Sachs Expands Board Diversity Push," in her interview with Proxy Insight (page 3), Catherine Winner, head of stewardship for Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), describes the investor's planned US proxy policy updates for 2021 relating to board diversity. Specifically, GSAM will vote against the entire Nominating Committee of boards that lack at least one female director and one additional "diverse" board member. Winner indicates that "diverse" in this context will include diversity of gender, race/ethnicity, and sexual orientation. The interview also touches on Winner's COVID-related engagement observations, compensation expectations, and what GSAM would like to see in the way of workforce diversity disclosure.
