According to S&P Global, the number of investor activism campaigns launched in the first half of 2022 was record-breaking. Compared to the previous record of 696 campaigns in the first half of 2020, the first half of 2022 saw 777 campaigns launched, 75% of which had an ESG component.
Of those with an ESG component, Governance themes dominated (57%) as compared to Social (30%) and Environmental (13%) themes.
