Board Evaluations: Outside Facilitators

In addition to outlining the key considerations relevant to designing the board evaluation process and sharing process tips to enhance evaluation effectiveness, in “Is Your Board Effective?”, Russell Reynolds Associates makes a strong case for periodic externally facilitated board evaluations, which have been trending up over the past several years, but still represent a minority practice.
The piece provides examples of the benefits attainable via an externally facilitated process that are unlikely to be achieved utilizing traditional questionnaires and board-led assessments.
