ISS compared the attributes of new directors (i.e., less than three years) vs. tenured directors (i.e., at least three years) among the Russell 3000.  Among the key takeaways:

Also noteworthy: The prevalence of Asian (excluding Indian/South Asian) and Hispanic/Latin American ethnicities among new directors, while low, is twice that of tenured directors, and new directors are joining boards later—at an average age of 57, compared to an average age of 55 for tenured directors.
