Vanguard’s new insight piece on its executive pay philosophy discusses its approach to evaluating executive pay plans. Each of the three areas of focus—alignment of pay and performance, compensation plan structure (including quantitative and nonfinancial metrics), and compensation plan governance—is accompanied by one or more expected or preferred criteria that support pay/performance alignment, a sound structure, and good governance.
