EFRAG: ESRS Revisions Work Plan Released

By Randi Morrison posted 05-01-2025 07:56 PM

As requested by the European Commission on March 27, last week, EFRAG submitted its work plan to deliver on the Commission’s expectation that EFRAG would provide its proposed revisions to the ESRS to the Commission by October 31, 2025, as generally outlined here:

Each of the above activities is further detailed in the work plan. Based on the plan, another 30- to 45-day public consultation in the summer is contemplated (see #28). This post from Ropes & Gray summarizes the work plan.

In addition, as noted last week, the Society launched a benchmarking survey to better understand and quantify the extraterritorial impacts of the CSRD and CSDDD on US companies. The results will help support an updated and refined position paper on the substantive aspects of the EU Omnibus Simplification Proposal.
If you are an in-house public or private company member and your company is subject to the CSRD or CSDDD, your participation in this survey (pdf here) is extremely important to help us inform EU policy makers about the extraterritorial implications of these directives.

Editor’s Note:
If you are a Society member and have not already expressed an interest in joining the EU working group to inform our ongoing engagement with the EU on its sustainability-related regulatory scheme and would like to do so, please email Randi Morrison.
