Jasper Street noted an uptick in average investor support for director nominees and an increase in the percentage of nominees garnering at least 90% support this season as of May 30 compared to the prior three proxy seasons:
The firm attributes the increased support for director nominees largely to: (i) less stringent institutional investor and proxy advisor policies that have historically prompted votes against directors and (ii) reduced “director accountability” votes by large institutional investors.
