Partnering Opportunities

The Society Deeply Values Our Partners.

The Society for Corporate Governance provides sponsorship and partnership opportunities that deliver value to both our members and your organization. These opportunities enhance the visibility of not only your services, products, and resources but also your brand, expertise, and thought leadership. Each partnership is customized to align with the specific goals of our partners and may include the following components:

  • Access to a uniquely important audience of thousands of Society members, who play a central role in governance, disclosure, compliance, sustainability, and related areas.
  • Broader exposure to business audiences and the general public, not only through the marketing of Society events, but also through press releases and publications.
  • Opportunities to demonstrate thought leadership, through collaborating on programs, surveys, and related content.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with Society members and to enhance each partner’s own knowledge and expertise through participating in Society programs.
  • Regular reporting and evaluation of how the partnership is meeting your objectives.

Organizational Sponsorship.

Organizational sponsors ‘bundle’ various components of our sponsorship offerings into an annual plan that is strategic, clearly defined, predictable from a budgetary perspective, and mutually beneficial. Such arrangements help facilitate engagement over time and afford a degree of exclusivity. The National Office works closely with such sponsors to ensure we deliver, and to consider other opportunities that may arise from time to time. There is a minimum annual monetary threshold to be an organizational sponsor, which we are happy to discuss. We also welcome multi-year arrangements.

Exclusive recognition and enhanced branding through the following acknowledgments:

  • On-site event signage at our conferences.
  • In-person national event welcome remarks.
  • Acknowledgment in session slideshows.
  • Recognition on the Society website.
  • Acknowledgment in periodic communications to members.
  • Recognition on the mobile app used for Society conferences.

Society Alert™ and Directors’ Cut.

The Society Alert is the Society’s iconic weekly newsletter providing timely information and resources on core and trending topics affecting the role and practices of corporate governance professionals and in-house counsel. It is comprehensive, current, and curated, with information on (and links to) regulatory, legal, issuer, and investor-related developments; filings made by issuers of interest to members, including proxy and annual reporting season filings and focused disclosures; Society member and third-party benchmarking; and studies, academic reports, and other third-party thought leadership and research.

The Directors' Cut is a quarterly compendium of corporate governance developments specifically designed to keep directors and C-suite executives informed on practices and developments germane to their oversight and management roles. The content is principally drawn from the preceding quarter's Society Alerts.

Benefit: Your logo will feature at the top of the newsletter and your company will be acknowledged in the sponsor content section, where you can link to substantive content. Each sponsor (limited to a maximum of 4 total) is featured in 12 issues of the Alert and one issue of the Directors’ Cut annually.

Virtual Programs and Related Content.

The Society offers numerous virtual programs each year – covering core and evolving corporate governance issues, disclosure practices, sustainability topics, regulatory developments, and more. These include Chatham House Rule roundtables focusing on specific topics, as well as symposia and webinars that reach broader audiences. Our programs are often informed by benchmarking surveys, and we produce written “takeaways” for registrants. Depending on the nature of the program, we also produce other content (reports, practical guides, templates, etc.) on topics such as board materials, disclosure committees, and sustainability-related matters.

An organization can partner with the Society’s National Office in developing and executing programs and related surveys and content. The nature of the collaboration will be customized based on the topic and type of program.

Your participation may include the following:

  • Involvement in developing the program agenda.
  • Involvement in developing one or more benchmarking surveys commissioned for the program.
  • Having a speaking role at the program.
  • Sharing relevant background materials at the program.
  • Recognition in emails promoting the program.
  • Recognition in any takeaways or reports stemming from the program.
  • Use of takeaways and reports subject to any restrictions (e.g., Chatham House Rule) associated with the program.
  • Naming and quotation in any press release issued in connection with a report.
  • Receipt of a list of registrants/attendees who have opted to share such information.

National Conference.

The premier annual in-person governance event in the U.S. for public, private, and non-profit organizations. Against the backdrop of broad challenges facing corporate America, the National Conference addresses critical corporate governance issues; regulatory developments and stakeholder expectations; make-or-break moments for companies and boards; boardroom trends; disclosure, compliance, and compensation practices; and professional development opportunities. We tackle these topics through fireside chats, panel discussions, roundtables, and networking events that bring both members and non-members back year after year.

This annual event is typically held annually in June or July, with an agenda filled with topical speakers and panels. The agenda includes more than 40 topics presented in plenary and breakout sessions, with an exhibit hall for attendees to seek services and products and solutions. CLE is provided for nearly all sessions.

Benefits: By exhibiting at and/or sponsoring an aspect of the National Conference (e.g., panel, reception), organizational sponsors can engage with existing and prospective clients and differentiate themselves, as well as their products and services.

Essentials Conference.

This is a three-day conference held annually in January or February, currently alternating between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It covers the fundamentals of corporate governance, including what is required for effective governance; practical solutions with examples; actionable takeaways for emerging issues; and opportunities for thought-provoking discussions with peers. The conference is directed at practitioners in the earlier stage of their corporate governance careers but also acts as a refresher for more seasoned professionals. We feature a select small group of sponsors and exhibitors (10 to 15) offering services and products as business solutions.

Your organization will be recognized during the opening of the program, featured in our post-conference highlights, and receive a list of registrants/attendees who have opted to share such information both before and after the conference. In addition, your organization will be recognized on the Society’s:

  • Website.
  • Conference mobile app.
  • Digital signage.
  • Promotional emails.
  • Slideshows during major portions of the event.
  • Social media.
  • Conference-related communications.

Service Provider Directory.

The Service Provider Directory provides the Society’s in-house members (public, private, and non-profit organizations) with key information and contacts for critical market tools, resources, and services relevant to their roles and responsibilities. Highlight your company’s key products and services and offer practical tools to support our growing member base in a dynamic and changing environment. Your profile is self-directed, so you can choose what and how to present your organization to Society members.

A Service Provider Directory listing includes the following information:

  • Name.
  • Products/Services.
  • Logo.
  • Website link.
  • Social Media Links.
  • Content.
  • Events/Promotions.
  • Products/services categorization.

Chapter Programs.

The Society has 21 Chapters that offer approximately 40 programs each year, including regional conferences.  As a sponsor, you can make connections at the local level with corporate governance professionals.  Sponsors may wish to consider a package of national in-person, national virtual, and Chapter programs.

  • The benefits of sponsorship will vary based on the type of Chapter program, to determined in conjunction with the local Chapter.
  • Benefits typically include recognition in materials used in promoting the Chapter program, as well as at the program itself.

Certified Corporate Governance Professionals (CCGP).

The CCGP is the preeminent corporate governance certification in the U.S. Aligning to rigorous national accreditation standards, the certification is relevant to in-house and law firm practitioners and other corporate governance professionals. Candidates do not need to be a Society member, so branding exposure goes well beyond our membership footprint. As a sponsor, you can elevate your profile in the corporate governance community and support the CCGP’s goal to elevate the role of corporate governance professionals at large.

This is a unique and exclusive branding opportunity in the U.S. corporate governance community and may extend to the following activities:

  • Add your company logo to:
    • CCGP web pages on the Society website.
    • Be recognized on our CCGP email masthead.
    • Be acknowledged in marketing communications.
  • Add “sponsored by” and #SponsorName in LinkedIn posts.
  • Sponsored guest social posts highlighting CCGP.
  • Submit a short video for marketing as to why CCGP is important.
  • Prominent recognition as the CCGP sponsor at all three Society national conferences.

While the Society welcomes sponsorship of specific programs and content, we believe we can deliver even greater value through multi-year and multi-dimensional relationships that span different types of programs, content, and networking opportunities.
