Advocacy: States

The Society seeks to monitor state regulatory developments and share updates via the Society Alert and other communications, while providing education to members through relevant programming such as webinars and roundtables. In determining whether to engage on a state level, the Society evaluates the potential scope and impact of regulatory activity and considers suggestions from members on potential engagement and advocacy opportunities in Delaware and in other states.

In light of the increasing (and sometimes conflicting) legislation and regulation at the state level, particularly relating to sustainability disclosure, the Society is enhancing its capacity to engage with state policymakers. For example, Society members has engaged with policymakers in addressing the scope and timing of California’s climate disclosure statutes.
