Importantly, the post acknowledges the increasing representation on audit committees by first-time and non-financial-expert directors, which may be fruitful, but also warrants more targeted training and education to ensure that the new members are sufficiently conversant in the areas the committee oversees upon (or within a reasonably short period of time after) joining the committee.
