Zevin Asset Management's latest Impact Brief: "Climate Change: The Physical Risks" puts the investor's portfolio companies in the Energy, Transportation, Real Estate & Materials, Agriculture, Food & Forestry, and Financial & Insurance sectors in particular on notice as to what to expect in the way of its climate-related engagement and advocacy activities. The briefing aims to summarize how physical climate risk manifests in targeted sectors, and describes an engagement and advocacy framework that encompasses: (i) enhanced corporate climate change risk disclosure, (ii) urging companies to invest in new equipment & systems to mitigate physical climate risks, (iii) pressing companies to address longer-term factors that exacerbate climate risks (e.g., greenhouse gas reduction targets); and (iv) encouraging companies to advocate for progressive climate-related public policy.
