Glass Lewis: 2020 Proxy Season Review

Of the 434 proposals Glass Lewis reviewed that went to a vote during the 2020 proxy season for US annual meetings through June 30, 58% were classified as "Governance" proposals, 28% as "Social" proposals, and "Environmental" and "Compensation" proposals each accounted for an additional 7%. Notably, average shareholder support lagged Glass Lewis's recommendations fairly significantly on all proposal types other than compensation, as shown here:

Aside from an informative overview, the full report: "2020 Proxy Season Review - Shareholder Proposals" details proposals and proposal trends by category and type, and includes several case studies in the E&S area. Majority supported shareholder proposals are listed by company name and category in the Appendix.
