The SEC announced the appointment of Renee Jones as the new Director of the Division of Corporation Finance, replacing John Coates, who has been serving as the Division’s Acting Director since February and will transition to SEC General Counsel. Both appointments are effective June 21, 2021. A graduate of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (BA) and from Harvard Law School (JD, cum laude), Jones most recently served as Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Boston College Law School.
