Suppliers Can't Ignore ESG Ratings Anymore: The EcoVadis Scorecard is Coming at You. And This One Has Teeth” from Clermont Partners describes a supply chain ESG ratings firm called EcoVadis that provides sustainability scores across the four themes of Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement primarily for smaller, private companies that make up many larger public companies’ supply chains. More than 90,000 companies across industries currently participate in the assessment and ratings program. Costs to participate vary based on company size, geography, and the selected plan (e.g., basic), in addition to time/resources to complete a customized questionnaire. Larger public companies seeking to enhance the sustainability of their supply chains purportedly are encouraging their suppliers to participate. The post explains what participating companies can expect in the way of inputs and outputs.
