Vanguard’s 2025 Investment Stewardship Report outlines its Investment Stewardship team’s global voting and engagement activities on behalf of Vanguard-advised funds and their investors for the 12 months ended December 31, 2025. Noteworthy statistics include:
- Worldwide, Vanguard engaged with 1,336 companies (including 642 companies across the US) and voted on 190,710 proposals at 13,432 portfolio companies (including 35,871 proposals at 4,016 US companies).
- It did not support any of the 241 environmental and social shareholder proposals it evaluated at US companies.
The report also provides—among other things—an overview of voting and engagement activities by region, case studies, and further insight into the reorganization of its investment stewardship function, including the establishment of the Vanguard Capital Management Investment Stewardship (VCMIS) and Vanguard Portfolio Management Investment Stewardship (VPMIS) teams beginning in 2026.
