As reported in today's Society Alert, yesterday, CARB held a virtual public workshop on SB 253, as amended by SB 219, during which staff reviewed the topics reflected in these slides, including proposed regulatory concepts for 2027 reporting, Scope 3 emissions, assurance, economic analysis, and next steps. Among other key takeaways, staff indicated that November 10, which will be the proposed new reporting deadline for 2026 reporting of Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions data (subject to the December 2024 Enforcement Notice), will also be the proposed recurring reporting deadline for Scopes 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data for 2027 and beyond.See this Ropes & Gray recap.
