Speaker:
John Siemann is a Partner at AST Phoenix Advisors, a specialized proxy solicitation and corporate governance advisory firm based in New York City. Mr. Siemann began his career in 1985 as Vice President and head of the proxy solicitation and stock watch departments for The Carter Organization, perhaps the most high-profile solicitation firm of the “corporate raider” era. In 1990 he helped found Beacon Hill Partners, a small, specialized New York City-based solicitation firm. Most recently, from 2000 through mid-2007 he served as a Managing Director at Georgeson, Inc. and from 2007 through mid-2010 as Managing Director and Partner of Laurel Hill Advisory Group, LLC.
As such, Mr. Siemann has had the opportunity over the past 28 years to be involved in virtually hundreds of solicitations, ranging from routine election of directors to major takeover contests, and is currently involved in providing solicitation and corporate governance advisory services to a broad range of clients. Mr. Siemann holds a Bachelors degree from Fordham University, an MA from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
