Further to our prior report: "Sen. Baldwin Delays Senate Votes on SEC Commissioner Nominees," the WSJ reported that Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) will now agree to an expedited Senate floor vote on the confirmations of SEC Commissioner nominees Robert Jackson and Hester Peirce based on their written responses (Jackson, Peirce) to a series of targeted questions she had raised concerning their views on shareholder activisim, stock buybacks and executive pay. Barring other unexpected impediments, the development paves the way for near-term confirmations.
