SEC: Trump Plans to Nominate Elad Roisman to Succeed Commissioner Piwowar

Reuters reported that President Trump plans to nominate Elad Roisman for Commissioner Piwowar's seat. As recently reported, SEC Commissioner Piwowar, whose term officially ends on June 5th, announced his resignation on the earlier of July 7th or the swearing in of his successor. Roisman's potential candidacy was floated two weeks ago. He currently serves as Chief Counsel for the Senate Banking Committee, with former stints as the Committee's Securities/Senior Counsel, Counsel to former SEC Commissioner Dan Gallagher, and Chief Counsel at NYSE Euronext, following his start as a Corporate and M&A associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.

Trump to nominate Elad Roisman to Securities and Exchange Commission

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump intends to nominate Elad Roisman to be a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the White House said on Friday.

Roisman currently serves as chief counsel at the U.S. Senate Banking Committee chaired by Republican Senator Mike Crapo, the White House said in a statement. He will be nominated for a five-year term, and his appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
