The Midwest Investor Diversity Initiative (MIDI) - a coalition of 14 institutional investors that we first discussed here - recently reported on its progress in advancing board diversity among Midwest-headquartered companies. Since its 2016 launch, MIDI has directly engaged with 54 Midwest-based companies, 32 of which have adopted the Rooney Rule. Moreover, MIDI's efforts purportedly have resulted in board appointments for 19 individuals of color and 50 women. The release includes the names of companies that have committed to adopt or have adopted diverse search policies and added diverse directors since MIDI's launch.

MIDI also collaborates with the Thirty Percent Coalition, which we recently reported on here (see "Women on Board!"). Access additional information & resources on our Board Diversity page. This post first appeared in the weekly Society Alert!
