Trust in business generally, and in one’s employer specifically, increased in the US 3% and 8%, respectively, since January 2021, and trust in one’s employer and business institutions continues to outpace trust in other institutions worldwide, according to Edelman’s most recent Trust Barometer.
Particularly relative to the other 13 countries surveyed, US respondents appear generally satisfied with their CEO’s level of involvement in social issues, with just 1% saying CEOs are not sufficiently involved; however, 14% say their CEOs are too involved in political issues.
The survey of nearly 17,000 adults was conducted April 30 – May 11, 2021, with an equal number of respondents across 14 countries including the US.
