Racial Equity Disclosure Benchmarking – Community Investments

By Randi Morrison posted 07-12-2022 07:54 PM

According to JUST Capital’s racial equity tracker, just over half of the 100 largest US companies disclose at least one of these three aspects of “community investment”: (i) diverse supplier spend; (ii) local supplier spend; or (iii) funding for local primary or secondary schools (excluding employee donation-matching programs to schools and scholarships), with disclosure on diverse supplier spending far exceeding disclosure across the two other categories.
The complimentary Corporate Racial Equity Tracker database is searchable by company, industry, and number of employees, and includes links to the original data sources (e.g., sustainability and DE&I reports, press releases, proxy statements, website disclosures). Companies can use the database to identify examples of policies or practices they may wish to consider tailoring to their organization to advance racial equity within and outside of their organizations.
